Re: Rovers Squad we loved more...
Look at that 1982 squad. Carter played for england, Guthrie was england or wales,Baxter Eng U23, Mckay Scotland, Slade Eng U23, Gosden england veteran, Wallace england, Gray england, Race England, Diaz Spain, Elliot england. Some squad. Quite weird really. Isn't that the squad that got relegated?

Re: Rovers Squad we loved more...
Baxter & Slade Under 23 years old at 1982?
But it couldn't be, since Noel signed a professional contact in 1971/72 period & Jimmy joined Melchester Rovers squad (taking the place of Addie Croydon) in Summer 1973...At that time he was 15/16 years old, not younger.
So, we have at least two cases of RotR comic strip characters that never grow up...
Just like Roy, who must had played even when he was past 42 years old...

Re: Rovers Squad we loved more...
I may have got that slightly wrong. I think they played for eng U23's prior to 1982. They both represented england in Roy's england side of 1977 didn't they. Great players though and the 1982 squad - what a squad.

Re: Rovers Squad we loved more...
How about the Rovers Youth team that represented england in the unofficial world youth cup in Japan:
Nicky Watson, Johny Lake, Alex Ritchie, Jimmy Coyle, Dennis Tyler, Brynn Jones, Des Chapman, Russell Wallace, Broz Bamber, Gary Gunn , Tommy Johnson. A lot of potential in that side and some of them went on to represent Rovers for many seasons.

Re: Rovers Squad we loved more...
It must be George Dimou, not "Giorgio" (this is maybe Italian name)
